Dr. Paul Palmatier
A native of Ohio, I travelled to UC Davis in 1969 as an undergraduate, obtaining housing as a “barn boy” (fraternity of alpha alfa oink!). I also attended their veterinary school, graduating in 1976. I spent one year practicing in Pennsylvania, while my wife completed a PhD in Developmental Biology. I returned to California and opened Heritage Vet Hospital in Santa Rosa in 1982, providing small animal medical and surgical services for 33 years.
I am a strong advocate for veterinary education and organized medicine. I have been a member of our local Redwood Empire Veterinary Medical Association for 45 years, serving as a member of the California Veterinary Medical Association House of Delegates for 12 years, and on the Board of the California VMA for six years.
I have three grown children and three grandchildren, with a fourth “on the way!” We have one horse, an 18 month old yellow lab (Autumn), and had chickens and geese when the kids lived at home.
I am mostly retired, however I still love meeting animal owners, pets, and striving to exceed owner expectations!
